    Status: Approved

We created designs for both front and back gardens on this sloping site, detailing how the change in the back garden would be managed and demonstrating that the ratio of hard and soft landscaping is appropriate to the size of the garden.

The property was on a corner plot, the garden sloping and elevated above the road, and the house elevated above the garden.  As there could only be one entrance to the garden, we created a design to ensure that there would be adequate parking for both properties that allowed all cars to be moved on and off with ease.

The design had to ensure that the view of drivers approaching the corner was not obscured by the garden boundary walls and  the elevated above the drive, we had to create a design to ensure that views were not obscured.

We liaised  closely with the planning office to ensure that the our input to the application helped the have a successful outcome for our client.

DISCHARGING PLANNING CONDITIONS & APPLYING FOR PLANNING PERMISSIONS

Over the years we have worked with a number of small developers  with their landscape design and planting design requirements to obtain planning permission for their projects.

We have also helped, in the main smaller developers and private individuals to discharge conditions attached to planning permissions that require additional landscape design and planting design details before the Planning Permission is fully granted.

Examples of the type of issues that need to be addressed are:

    • detailing the percentage of hard to soft landscaping,
    • show where storage for bins and occasionally bikes is to be sited and that there will be sufficient for the property / properties,
    • how slopes and changes of level will be managed and
    • in the case of front gardens, demonstrate that there is enough off street parking a few of the issues we have solved for our clients.
    • Planting Plans for soft landscaping

We can consult with Planning Departments to help insure that planing permission is likely to be  granted or conditions successfully discharged.

Should any of our projects require planning permissions, we produce the necessary technical drawings, can submit the application on their behalf  and also act as their agent through the process.

Quite often we work from drawings supplied by architects and topographical survey as the no construction will have begun, so it is not necessary or even possible to visit the site, as such we can work  out of our normal area.
