We have now been working with Thrity for 8 years, ever since we bought our first home in 2016. We had a new-build property and inherited a blank canvas covered in grass which we needed a great deal of help with to transform into a place that we could all enjoy.
Thrity listened very carefully to our requirements and we settled on quite an ambitious design with triangular borders, two raised beds (one of which we turned into a fish pond) and a lovely pergola area in the sunniest part of the garden. The whole project was completed just in time for our wedding and we managed to get the final plants in before the end of the summer season. We stayed at the house for five years and the hardest part about selling the house was leaving the garden behind!
There was never any doubt that once we were settled in our new home we would approach Thrity to again transform our new garden, and the project is ongoing. We cannot wait to see the end result!
Thrity’s way of coming up with design ideas that we would never have con-templated is worth every penny, and her planting design skills are also invalu-able, taking into account our particular colour schemes. We have a very basic knowledge of plants but without Thrity’s guidance and advice the ‘wow factor’ just wouldn’t be there.

We inherited an overgrown blank canvas with virtually no established planting. The brief we gave you was for a classic English country garden with some formality yet a relaxed feel, that would compliment the house and it’s walled garden. The garden you created most certainly delivered, maximising the setting and views we are fortunate to have. The creation of natural pond and seating area is one of our favourite places that has attracted dragonflies and a pair of wild ducks who have now taken up residency, despite the dogs! A truly tranquil place.
Within the first year it was extraordinary to see how quickly the garden established and matured thanks to your considered plant selection, all within the colour pallet of the brief. Having now been able to see the garden through a whole year, it has been lovely to see how the plants thrive and fill the large borders, yet still hold enough interest and structure in the winter months.
We have to thank you also for your continuing support and advice as we look to add to the garden further. You have inspired us to experiment and try new combinations of planting and we are absolutely delighted with the end result. We throughly enjoy spending time tending and relaxing in the garden – a truly happy place for us both.
